Week 6 Recap — Roast Theme

A League of Allegedly Functional Adults

"A League of Allegedly Functional Adults"

Week 6 is in the books, and once again this league proved that fantasy football is less about skill and more about who accidentally started the right guy while eating wings and ignoring injury reports.

Some of you built contenders. Some of you built tax shelters. And one of you started a player who was ruled out before brunch, which should honestly trigger a league wellness check.

Manager of the Week: Danny — "The Waiver Wire Goblin"

Danny dropped 154.7 points this week and strutted through the matchup like he had insider information from the NFL scriptwriters. Every button he pushed worked. Every flex decision hit. Even his kicker looked like he was trying to get a Netflix documentary.

This was not just a win. This was a public execution with box scores.

Danny is now officially upgraded from "annoying lucky guy" to "possible threat." Nobody likes it. Everyone must accept it.

Player of the Week: Ja'Marr Chase — 38.4 Points

Ja'Marr Chase decided this week was Bring Your Defender to Work Day and then immediately got that man fired. He put up 38.4 points, carried Danny's team on his back, and made the opposing manager stare at the app like it owed him an explanation.

When your wide receiver scores like a quarterback, that is not fantasy football. That is theft with ESPN notifications.

Worst Manager of the Week: Connor — "The Lineup Leftovers"

Connor finished with 76.2 points, which is less of a fantasy score and more of a cry for help.

He left 28.6 points on the bench, started a questionable running back who played like he was wearing ankle weights, and somehow managed to make every wrong decision with the confidence of a man explaining crypto at Thanksgiving.

Connor did not lose this week. Connor submitted paperwork.

Biggest Letdown Player of the Week: Tony Pollard — 4.3 Points

Tony Pollard gave his fantasy managers 4.3 points, which is the statistical equivalent of texting "you up?" and then falling asleep.

He was projected for double digits, got the starting nod, had the matchup, had the opportunity, and then proceeded to deliver absolutely nothing but emotional damage.

You do not bench him next week because that would be rational, and fantasy football punishes rational people.

Matchup of the Week: Kendall def. Marcus, 122.8–122.1

Kendall beat Marcus by 0.7 points, which is a hilarious and deeply disrespectful way to ruin someone's Monday night.

Marcus needed one more catch. One more yard. One more meaningless garbage-time stat. Instead, he got sadness, rage, and the cold realization that fantasy football is a sick hobby for broken people.

Waiver Wire Gremlin Award: Maddie

Maddie picked up a tight end 17 minutes before kickoff and got 14.8 points out of him. Nobody knows how. Nobody respects it. Everyone is mad they did not do it first.

Final Thought

Week 6 reminded us of the core truth of fantasy football: you can research all week, listen to podcasts, study matchups, and still get humiliated by someone who drafted based on vibes and jersey colors.

See you next week, degenerates.
